Мinternship, is a mid-career internship and a new recruitment trend. This is when experienced professionals return to the entry-level status in another field in their 30s. Employees simply want to define their own identities to become more satisfied with their jobs. That’s why some of them are taking the drastic measure of changing career paths and deliberately starting off at the beginning of their career ladder.
Dissatisfaction among Millenial workforce is high: more than 49% of them will quit their jobs within the next two years according to Deloitte’s 2019 global survey. As an alternative, employees decide to take an opportunity to relaunch their careers or switch professional paths before it becomes too late. This restart on careers is a chance to feel deeply connected to new work that will probably lead employees towards their dream job.
“ Are Millenial interns a true competitors for young interns?”
Minterns have their advantages possessing previous professional experience as well as their will. Being open to change, and the desire to be challenged is becoming a huge benefit in their new working environment. It goes without saying, that the career change includes the financial hit, but the challenge – expanding career horizons with a relentless vision for the future, with all the perspectives and mostly positive outcomes – seems definitely worth it.
Self-improvement and growth always come to those willing to challenge themselves and come out of their comfort zone. Calvin Coolidge says “All growth depends upon activity. There is no development physically or intellectually without effort, and effort means work.” Taking the challenge and turning it into a concrete opportunity of growth and improvement is a key to success.
Minterns have a long-term vision with a great deal of self-awareness. Therefore, their intention to find an ideal job is appreciated and supported by the modern recruitment systems and the trend is spreading worldwide. Circumstances are always different, but it always depends on how persistent people stay in their pursuit of a better change.
