Transformative Coaching with Diana Abdrakhmanova

1. With over 100 hours of coaching sessions under your belt, what key insights have you gained about facilitating individual transformations?

Having conducted over 100 hours of coaching sessions, especially using Clifton Strengths results, I’ve gained valuable insights into facilitating individual transformations. One key observation is that self-awareness significantly boosts motivation. When individuals gain a deeper understanding of themselves, they are able to make changes in their lives that are more balanced and successful, leading to enhanced well-being and performance.

    2. How do you balance the need for personal development with the demands of organizational transformation?

That’s a great question. When an organization undergoes a transformation, it often opens up numerous new opportunities. I believe this makes it an ideal time for personal development as well. For instance, during a digital transformation, an employee might take the initiative to learn new software or digital tools ahead of their implementation. This proactive approach not only prepares them for upcoming changes but also positions them as a go-to expert in the new system, enhancing their role within the company. Embracing personal transformation during these periods can make individuals more receptive to change.

      3. In your opinion, what are the essential components for successful post-merger and acquisition integration processes?

In my opinion, successful post-merger and acquisition integration processes hinge on several critical components. Firstly, it’s crucial to engage key leaders and opinion makers early in the integration process. Assigning these individuals to senior roles with substantial accountability for results can greatly enhance the integration’s effectiveness. Secondly, from the very first days, it is important to share the main principles of how each team used to collaborate. This sets a clear foundation for future interactions and helps in aligning processes. Additionally, equal emphasis should be placed on cultural integration along with technical and procedural integration. Ensuring that both sides are motivated to collaborate, understand each other’s teams, and work towards unified goals is essential for a smooth and productive integration

        4. What role do you believe CliftonStrengths coaching plays in unlocking the full potential of individuals and organizations?

CliftonStrengths coaching plays a critical role in unlocking the full potential of individuals and organizations. It is pivotal for shifting mindsets and fostering a culture that is more open, positive, and collaborative, where every individual truly matters. CliftonStrengths coaching emphasizes the positive attributes of each person, which helps alleviate pressure and reduce negative interactions. We have observed positive trends in productivity, efficiency, and engagement in teams where we have implemented the CliftonStrengths assessment. These improvements underscore the significant impact this coaching can have on an organization’s overall performance.

          5. As a catalyst for personal and company development, what advice do you have for individuals looking to embark on their growth journey?

As a catalyst for both personal and organizational development, my advice to individuals embarking on their growth journey is to take active responsibility for their own development, success, and happiness. Invest in self-awareness, explore your potential thoroughly, identify what truly excites you, and gather the courage to pursue your dreams. Working with a coach—an impactful coach—can be a significant step toward achieving these goals. A good coach can guide you, challenge you, and support you as you navigate the complexities of personal and professional growth.

            6. Can you elaborate on how you establish resilient and adaptable processes and teams within organizations?

To establish resilient and adaptable processes and teams within organizations, the first step is to simplify existing processes. Eliminate unnecessary tasks and increase automation wherever feasible. Investing in technology is crucial to building sustainable yet resilient systems that reduce dependency on any single individual. This approach ensures that your organization can adapt quickly and efficiently to changes.

              7. With your expertise in guiding CEOs and executives through major business transformations, what advice would you give to leaders facing similar challenges?

For leaders navigating major business transformations, it’s essential to start by examining your own mindsets and mental limitations. Learn to trust your team and embrace the risks associated with transformation. Don’t hesitate to refresh your team with new skills necessary for this phase. Maintaining transparency and consistency in your actions and communications is key to successfully leading through change.

                8. Looking ahead, how do you see the role of coaching evolving in the context of organizational development and talent management?

I view coaching as a critical tool for leadership development and enhancing employee resilience. Effective coaching directly contributes to improved decision-making, greater emotional intelligence, and stronger interpersonal relationships within teams. Moving forward, coaching should become a flagship element in all aspects of people management, playing a central role in both individual and organizational growth strategies. By embedding coaching into our core practices, we can ensure that leaders are not only equipped to handle today’s challenges but are also prepared to innovate and thrive in an ever-evolving business landscape.

                  9. Recently, Great Britain has introduced a pilot project of a 4-day working week. What’s your opinion about it? What advantages and disadvantages do you see both for employers and employees? Would you take part in the experiment, and why?

I strongly support the 4-day working week, as seen in pilot projects in Great Britain and tests in Germany. With advanced technology at our disposal, working smarter, not harder, is more feasible than ever. This schedule allows more personal time, which can significantly benefit mental health and overall well-being. Observations from weeks with a bank holiday show that people return to work energized after a longer weekend. For organizations, this can mean savings on costs related to motivation and mental health initiatives, while potentially seeing gains in focus and productivity. I am convinced that a 4-day work week benefits both employers and employees, fostering a more satisfied and efficient workforce.
